Please Pray...
March 2nd has been a day of memorable events for my family two years in a row now. One year ago today I arrived home from Iraq... and that was a great day... but unfortunately March 2nd of this year is not such a great day for my family. And that is why I am writing.
My adorable nephew Ethan who is not quite 2 months old, is in ICU at the Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh right now because he has Bi-lateral pneumonia (both lungs are infected with a bacterial pneumonia) which the doctors discovered when he stopped breathing today around noon. I was at the hospital all afternoon today with Joseph and Christy waiting for the transport to come up from Pittsburgh to pick Ethan up. Ethan was stabilized and put on an antibiotic right away so he is doing okay, but still in intensive care.
It was really hard to see such a little guy hooked up to all those things just lying there. Before Ethan left for Pittsburgh, both Christy's family and my family stood in the hall and all prayed for him. I am so thankful for a family who understands the Sovereignty of God and the fact that He holds all things in His hands and knows exactly what's going on. It was hard to watch my brother and sister-in-law going through such an incredibly difficult trial, but comforting to know that they both are trusting the Lord with their son's life. And that is the only thing they can do... so please pray for Ethan, that he will pull through and have no long term complications... for comfort and strength for Joseph and Christy and Hannah... and for the Lord to grant the doctors wisdom beyond their own... and for our Heavenly Father to be honored and glorified through all of this.
